FAA Repair Supervisor

Southwest United Industries, Inc. is a leader in aircraft structural component repair and aerospace electroplating, thermal spray coating, precision grinding and associated support processes. It has been in business for over 50 years with an impressive record of growth and profitability. Southwest has an immediate opening in our Tulsa, OK facility for an FAA Repair Supervisor.

The FAA Repair Supervisor will oversee FAA repair operations to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. In addition, the successful candidate will be the main point of contact for customer scheduling, ship dates and quotations. He/she will supervise the work of (typically) three technicians, ensuring that all applicable FAA and OEM requirements and regulations are strictly followed. The successful candidate will also value and maintain an absolute adherence to quality, continuous improvement and safety.

For consideration, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a thorough knowledge and ability to use aircraft CMM, OHM and SOPM's and an understanding of metal finish processes. A licensed FAA A&P Mechanic is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates must have seven or more years of experience in a similar role or related technical field, including three years minimum in a supervisory or leadership role.

TOOL DRAFTER – 1st Shift

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Previous shop experience
  • Working knowledge of mills, lathes, ID/OD grinders
  • Experienced using Catia, AutoCad, modeling and 3-D software
  • 5-8 years of tool designing experience

TOOLMAKER - 2nd Shift

  • Create and conduct formal training of shot peening for new and current employees
  • Assist in acquisition of new methods, procedures, materials, etc. to enable continuous improvement
  • Create and update written procedures for process improvement
  • Troubleshoot production and/or quality issues and report serious problems to management for resolution
  • Maintain accurate and daily records of all activities to comply with company and customer guidelines and regulations
  • Design and build tooling for production operations as directed by the Production Manager and as needed for process improvements
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout department and work facility
  • Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.
