WIRE SPRAY

ELECTRIC

Arc Wire spraying applies coatings of selected metals in wire form. Feed rolls carry two oppositely charged wires through the gun to contact tips at the gun head. An arc is created that melts the wire at a temperature over 3500c and compressed air then atomizes the particles and projects them onto a prepared surface.

This process is excellent for metallic coating applications requiring heavy build-ups and/or where large surfaces require coating. It is a flexible process allowing for adjustment to give the required hardness and surface texture of the sprayed deposit to suit different applications.

Combustion wire spraying applies coatings of selected metals in wire form. A single wire is fed axially into an oxygen/fuel gas flame and accelerated onto the work piece with compressed air.

The process is suited for fragile applications of metals onto composite substrates, as well as for applying hard wear coatings such as molybdenum.

Wire Spray processes lend themselves to on-site coating applications due to their ease of portability and simplicity of required support services.
